Racing - Best On Hess Time Trial
- Hard day of racing.
- I lost.
- I certainly could not move my bike any faster.
- Best to blame externalities such as errant brake cables ("dragging in the wind" I think I said to someone).
Future Races
- Deer Trail Road Race (Colorado State Road Race Championships) - June 21
- Colorado State Time Trial Championships - June 28 -
- Elite National Road Race Championships - July 3 - Madison WI
- Elite National Time Trial Championships - July 4 - Madison WI
- Lots of championships (maybe an overused word in cycling) coming up.
Trainin'
- Lots of riding in preparation for the aforementioned championships (overused) in June/July. Look for me on the road. I'll be the guy on Rabbit Mtn/Sunshine Canyon with drool all over himself.
A lot like this
- World Cup is on everyday.
- People will yell at the TV. That's cool.
My personal yell at TV vice
Reading
- Emperor Of All Maladies - Siddhartha Mukherjee
A history of cancer treatment and it's elusive cure. Written with a non-scientific voice. Explains complex treatment plans with layman's terms. Interesting read but can be depressing after pages upon pages of childhood leukemia. After reading the book it will be much easier to understand the newest, best, AND greatest ever cancer treatment posted on the nytimes health pages.
- Pro Cycling On $10 A Day - Phil Gaimon
I thought this was going to be a book about survival. I.e. a how to guide on feeding yourself whilst biking twenty hours week. While this was not the case, Gaimon's story still provides ample motivation and life lessons. Good stuff.
Listening
- The Books - Try out Smells Like Content, The Lemon of Pink, Classy Penguin, An Owl With Knees, Motherless Bastard
- Bibio - Lovers Carvings, You
- Similar music. Great early morning music for riding. Little to no lyrics.
Future
- I'm going to try and do a long bike ride in September. If anyone wants to come let me know. More info to come soon.
Something like this maybe.
Pics - It Happened
Chillen Hard
