A Soft Launch
To make our lives easier Brett and I cheated on the first part of our trip. Cheating is usually the way to go. So we cheated.
Today we drove to from Chatham NH to Portland ME. Then we biked from Portland ME to Chatham NH. Chatham NH is where my Mom is. Mom is where the food is.
- It was a pretty fun time. See photos below.
We didn't bring panniers.
We Brought:
Bikes
3 chocolate chip cookies
a multi-tool
water
Garmins
The route today was only 60 miles so we only needed the essentials.
It was also a good time to tinker with our bike and cleat positions. As seen in photo.
Pre Trip Activities.
Brett getting over a dammed beaver inlet. (Beaver dammed inlet?)
My finger can be seen in the bottom left corner.
We did a fair amount of kayaking.
Photo of Upper Kimball Lake.
It is pretty neat.
Thanksgiving Dinner.

Dumbass Bike Adventure Stage 1 - Photos
Brett and I put our wheels in the Atlantic Ocean because shit, what if we want to put our wheels (one day) in the Pacific Ocean? It was Brett's idea. Good idea Brett.
We found a dirt road. Then we found a covered bridge. Everything you have read/heard about Maine is true. All of it.
More sweet ass dirt roads.
Then we got into New Hampshire.
We're planning on about a state a day while in New England.
Thanks for reading. Stay in touch for a post sometime in the next couple of days.
